Great SEO still pays off for companies today, even in ways previously unimagined.

Here’s a recent customer success story to illustrate.

One of our clients is a tech consulting firm. Over the last 5 to 6 years, we’ve been able to grow quality organic traffic extremely well to our client’s website – almost entirely thanks to high quality SEO and content creation.

The success, thankfully, has resulted in the acquisition of many quality leads over the years, of which some have turned into customers. This is something quite difficult for IT consulting companies to achieve, especially compared to, say, a company that sells software.

With that said, recently something quite interesting happened. Our client acquired another high quality lead through SEO, but the acquisition process was unique. Why?

The lead used Microsoft Copilot (an AI tool similar to ChatGPT) to search for consulting services around a specific technology. Copilot then recommended two companies for the lead to consider, and our client was one of them.

The lead then contacted our client and the rest was history.

Copilot did this because our client ranks at the top in search engine results pages for queries related to what the lead searched in Copilot.

The lesson: SEO is still highly relevant in successful marketing, including AI search.
