How The Grant Partners Appeared in Grok
Published October 9, 2025
“What are five executive retained search firms in Atlanta?”
That’s the prompt I ran in Grok to test AI visibility for The Grant Partners, an executive retained search firm based in Atlanta.
The result: Grok listed them.

Two months earlier, their website wasn’t much of an asset. They hired Demand Thrive to build a new site engineered for traditional search and AI search.
Optimization for AI Search – Why?
AI search is a major new opportunity. A OneLittleWeb study and other industry research keep pointing the same direction: more people are getting answers from AI engines, not only from classic blue-link results.
SE Ranking research has shown AI Overviews appearing across a large share of US queries, often drawing on 13+ sources when they do appear. That is visibility you either earn—or leave on the table.
Traditional SEO still matters. Rankings, crawlability, and authority remain the foundation. But Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) is the additional layer for being mentioned and cited inside AI-generated answers—Grok, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and the rest.
What is GEO?
Generative Engine Optimization is the practice of optimizing web content so AI systems can discover, understand, and cite it when they generate answers. A Princeton study helped formalize the field and showed that specific content tactics can meaningfully improve visibility in generative engines.
In practice, GEO blends authoritative writing, structured data, natural language that matches how people prompt AI, and solid technical performance. Here’s a chart that breaks it all down:
| GEO Tactic | Why It Matters for AI Tools | How We Applied It for The Grant Partners |
|---|---|---|
| Authoritative, high-quality content | AI favors clear, cited answers over fluff | Wrote clearly and concisely, avoided redundancy |
| Structured data & schema markup | Helps AI parse and cite your content | Used plugin to deploy schema for all pages |
| Natural language & user intent | Matches how people query AI | Wrote conversationally for majority of content, including blog content |
| Technical optimizations | Fast, mobile-friendly sites improve visibility chances | Prioritized load times, rendering speeds, user experience (especially mobile) |
Conclusion
The Grok result is the point: when a site is engineered for AI search as well as traditional search, brands can show up in generative answers for the prompts that matter. Demand Thrive builds that kind of install.
